About the Authors

Neale Mahoney is the Trione Director of SIEPR and the TG Wijaya Professor of Economics at Stanford University. He previously served as a Special Policy Advisor in the White House National Economic Council.

Erika McEntarfer is a Research Scholar and Distinguished Policy Fellow at SIEPR. She served as Commissioner of the Bureau of Labor Statistics until August 2025 and, before that, was a Senior Economist in the White House Council of Economic Advisers.

Karsen Wahal is a researcher at SIEPR. He recently graduated from Stanford with a B.A. (with honors) in economics, a B.S. in mathematics and an M.S. in computer science. His primary research interests are in the economics of AI, particularly through the lenses of labor economics, economic growth, market design, and political economy.
